Alida's Song

Summary: This is a sequel to The Cookcamp. Now the boy is 14 and his grandma sends for him to work on a farm. Again, in the midst of a terrible home life, he escapes into the loving realm of his grandma and two loving men.

Recommendation: Yes. I enjoyed it more than the 1st book. I loved that the story starts with an older boy and then he reflects back on the time he was 14. The story ends as a reflective young man truly realizes the gifts his grandma gave to him.
