Author: Margaret Peterson Haddix
Summary: As final volume of the Shadow Children, Book 7 wraps up with Luke inadvertently setting off a rebellion that results in the overthrow of the Government. The people are finally free, but who is really leading them? Are they any better off?
Recommendation: Of course - it's the seventh and final volume of a super fast read (I finished all 7 in 2 days). It ends up satisfying the happy ending longing, but without making everything happily ever after. But the author should have written 3 volumes total, and combined a few books. The publisher made a killing off of these.

Summary: The world has become overpopulated and laws have been set that a family may have no more than two children. Luke, a third child, comes out of hiding to fight against the Population Police laws. He sets off a rebellion that results in the overthrow of the government. However, the question remains if the people are finally free or is it a hoax.
Recommendation: I would recommend this book. I had a fourth grade student who was interested in this book, therefore, I decided to read to see why this student was so interested. The plot is very engaging and keeps your curiosity going.

Title: Among the Free
Author: Margaret Peterson Haddix
Summary: Luke, who is disguised as a police officer is asked to do a special mission to help restore order to the country. He is then ordered to do something I will not do. Can he survive his most dangerous situation yet, and
still fight for his freedom.
Recommendation: This book is excellent from beginning to end. Just when you think one thing is happening, another twist from previous books comes back to haunt you. I recommend this book.
