Believer

Summary: Ian Roshek lives in a world very different from our own. The United States of America has had defectors who have created their own nation- a nation where there is no religion or belief beyond what the founder brought with him. There is oppression, restriction, and fear, though. Ian becomes involved in an underground search for truth. He has illegal documents and books- primarily the Book of Mormon- that he has come to believe in though he could be killed for this possession and belief. Eventually his beliefs come to light and he has to fight to stay alive.

Recommendation: Yes, I would recommend this book. I wasn't sure what to expect at first when I started this book, but I enjoyed it. It became quite intense and Stephanie Black really created a new and interesting (and frightening) world.
