The Book of Three

Summary: Taran longs for adventure, but there isn't any on the farm he lives on, until the pig runs away. He had been instructed not to go into the forest, but he was told to keep the pig safe and the pig ran into the forest. Taran follows the lost pig and his adventure begins. Along the way, he meets a prince, is rescued by a princess after being held captive by an evil enchantress, and has the pig, a dwarf, a king and a princess as traveling companions. By the end of the book, he is happy to return to the farm.

Recommendation: Yes, it was a fun read. It's Young Adult fiction so it's faster to read and less sophisticated than most adult fiction. It also has cleaner language and isn't as graphic as some adult fiction. The plot isn't complicated, you know when you pick it up that it has a happy ending, so you read simply to see what the adventure is.
