Summary: The story of a dog named Buck who is kidnapped from his home in California and taken to be a sled dog in the Yukon. Buck learns new rules and life lessons and eventually learns to excel in his new environment. While doing this, he grows closer and closer to a wild animal instead of the domestic dog that he once was.

Recommendation: London's prose is very descriptive and he really gives you the feeling of what life is like from the dog's viewpoint. The story stays engaging throughout and really gives you a feel for what life in Alaska and Northern Canada was like at the time. I really enjoyed it.
