Summary: This is the seventh in the Toby Peters series. Each mystery involves a celebrity in the entertainment world of the early 1940s. This one focuses on the clown Emmett Kelly and the world of the circus.

Recommendation: He often mentions popular products of that era, as well as their prices, which adds to the entertainment. Since Peters's character evolves from book to book, there is more continuity when they are read in sequence. I personally like the Russian-based Porfiry Rostnikov series better.
