Title: The Chosen

Summary: In New York City, near the end of WWII, two rival sects of the Jewish religion play against each other in a baseball game. It is a heated game, and one boy gets hit hard in the eye with a ball and is taken to the hospital to try to save his eye. The boy that hit him, Danny, visits him in the hospital and they slowly become friends.

Recommendation: I liked how these 2 rivaling boys become friends, even though maybe one of the fathers isn't completely happy about it. And I liked how informative this book was about different Jewish cultures and customs and histories.
