Summary: The human race is about to make first contact with a new alien species. But something goes horribly wrong and the human fleet is wiped out. The youngest Cavanagh son was the captain of one of the human ships. But his body and escape pod cannot be found. The Cavanagh family decides to try a
rescue mission to find their son and brother.

Recommendation: I liked the book because it showed how different "people" can both think that they are right. It all depends on your point of view. I will continue to read the series to find out what happens next.
