Summary: Conrad's uncle convinces him that he must go work at the magical Stallery castle to cure his bad karma. Sent off with a death spell for "you'll know him when you see him," he makes friends with the mysterious Christopher who is looking for a missing friend.

Recommendation: Yes. It was well-written and entertaining. As usual with Christopher Chant, not everything is the way it seems. 3 1/2 stars.
