Curse the Dark

Summary: This is the second book in the Retrievers Novel series. Wren has been roped into working for the Silence, a super secret self-appointed monitoring organization that protects the world against evil at any cost, whether the world wants to be protected or not. Only they haven't given Wren much to go on, only that the object to be Retrieved (read "steal" a la the movie "Sneakers" was stolen from Italy and it is very old and very dangerous. At the same time, things are beginning to heat up among the different factions of the magical community. Will Wren be able to finish the job without being sucked into the quicksand of nasty politics...or worse?

Recommendation: I think this is the best book out of the Retrieval Novels. There is a lot of character development, and the story moves at a fast pace. I would definitely recommend it.
