Title: Dark Mission: The Secret History of NASA
Author: Richard C. Hoagland and Mike Barra
Summary: This is a VERY thorough analysis of the images NASA has released of the manned missions to the Moon and the unmanned missions to Mars. Richard Hoagland is a former NASA consultant and Mike Bara is an engineer for Boeing, so they have access to much of the original data that NASA used to create the images. The results they have produced over the long history of NASA lunar and maritan exploration is more than remarkable and have far-reaching implications that change our perception of the history of the solar system.
Recommendation: I would very much recommend this book. The research cited in the book is impeccable and shows step by step the logic and raw sources the authors used to come to their conclusions. Since one of the authors (Hoagland) is a former CBS News advisor (he was the scientific consultant for Walter Conkrite for many years), the book is written for the audience to follow what the authors have done without being mired in the complex computations used to process the images. The conclusions are very reasonable but also breathtaking.
