Summary: A boy completes an assignment to write to an author. He receives some reply, but eventually begins writing to Mr. Henshaw in a journal as a way to work through some of the problems he is facing.

Recommendation: Yes. This was a great book. It was funny and poignant. I would recommend it to any young reader, and want to also read the sequel.
