Title: The Fala Factor
Author: Stuart Kaminsky
Summary: This is the 9th Toby Peters mystery in the series; these are a sort of slap-stick variety. The year is 1942, the location is LA, and someone has apparently dognapped the president's dog. Each of these involves some well-known person from that era, and this one concerns Eleanor Roosevelt, with a cameo appearance by Buster Keaton.
Recommendation: Kaminsky has several different series going. I personally prefer the Russian-based Porfiry Rostnikov mysteries, as well as the Jewish-Chicago Lieberman mysteries, to the Peters one. But, this is a nice change of pace. There is character evolution and it seems more satisfying to read them in the order of publication.
