Title: Flame (A.K.A. Fall of a Kingdom, Farsala Trilogy, book 1)

Summary: Farsala is about to be attacked by the Hrum. This book follows the adventures of Soraya, the snotty princess of Farsala who has to hide away; Jiaan, the bastard son of the Ruler of Farsala who wants recognition from his father; and Kiva, a peddler/blacksmith who gets caught in the middle of everything. It also gives a little history about Sorahb which will lead more into future books in the series and doesn't have anything to do with this book.

Recommendation: Yes, it was a very intriguing book. It really hooked me into wanting to know more. Also, the characters were very believable. Unlike some books, the characters don't just magically change as circumstances change. They are very true to their character. I never knew who to root for: to Farsala, or the Hrum. There were great things about both and great ties to
both parties. A very satisfying ending, though it did leave you having to read the next 2 books.
