Happy Hour is for Amateurs: a Lost Decade in the World's Worst Profession

Title: Happy Hour is for Amateurs: A Lost decade in the World's Worst Profession

Author: The Philidelphia Lawyer

Summary:
Philadelphia Lawyer is the wildly popular blog written by an attorney. An .anonymous attorney (www.thephiladelphialawyer.net). I can imagine waiting for the next posting of this gonzo legal professional. Gathering around the computer to see what mischief he has managed to produce. Furtively e-mailing his latest sexcapade to your friends. It is hilarious and profane. Sadly, this is a great example of why blogs don't necessarily convert into readable books. A small amount of the drugs, sex, illegal activity and whatever Lawyer and his buddies can find can be amusing, especially because the writing can be razor sharp. But it goes on page after page until you feel assaulted by the puerile activity and mind profanity that fills the pages. I get it. In order
to survive the mind numbing profession he has chosen, lawyer has to seek diversions (I'd like to see him survive some of the jobs where I work). Sadly, despite an eventual wife and son, he careens on in search of the next party, high, escape, excuse.and eventually decides to write for a living. That is the problem. Any good writing is overwhelmed by the sheer volume of distasteful stories, descriptions and frat boy musings that fill these pages. I couldn't finish it fast enough, and not in a good way.

Recommendation: No, no, no!!!!! I felt as if I needed to shower after this book. It is vulgar, debasing to anyone mentioned within these pages, profane and really a disgrace to William Morrow, the publisher. This is a book to toss aside as quickly as possible, and if possible from great heights! I would have given no hearts if it was possible.
