He Done Her Wrong

Title: He Done Her Wrong

Author: Stuart Kaminsky

Summary: This is the eighth of the Toby Peters series. The setting is Los Angeles in the Spring of 1942. Each of these features, generally in a somewhat minor way, a well-known celebrity of that time period. This time it's Mae West, who becomes a focus of an escapee from a mental institution.

Recommendation: There is an element of humor associated with this character. There is also mention of products available in that era, together with their prices. The stories are enjoyable and interesting. The character evolves from book to book, so I would recommend reading them in sequence. Even so, I prefer his Russian-based Porfiry Rostnikov series to these.
