Summary: Prue moves to the Maine countryside from New York when her uncle wills a home to her and her brother. She is not friendly to men after a family problem years before, when she meets her neighbor a rich playboy type. She tries to not like him, but can't get him off her mind. They teem up against another man who wants to cut their lumber, who isn't trustworthy. He does many things to prevent their success, but in the end they succeed, and she falls for her neighbor.

Recommendation: Emilie Loring might be kind of old fashioned, but I feel she is timeless. I have read her books for about 30 years, and I keep coming back to them. You can trust her books to be clean and entertaining.
