Summary: This is a book of short stories. Many of the stories focus on situations that the characters find themselves in shortly after returning home from World War I.

Recommendation: I highly recommend this book. Ernest Hemingway is one of the best writers that our nation has produced, and the stories titled "The Big Two-hearted River -- parts 1 and 2" (which are found in this collection)are two of the best stories he ever wrote. It is a beautiful story of fishing and self-discovery. The other stories are just as beautiful and profound.
