Summary: This is the second book in the series of a Passage of Promise. This book follows the son of Elisabeth and his desire to claim a prize that would have belonged to his mother when her first husband died. It shows the difficulty encountered when he meets and falls in love with one of the other contenders for the prize and how it all works out for him.

Recommendation: Set in a historical setting this novel gives insight into a time and place and the customs encountered by those who left England and returned. it was interesting and kept the reader entertained with twists and turns in the plot.
