Summary: The survivors are going to get off the island (hence the title). The trick is staying alive long enough to get to help and avoiding the scumbags who have claimed the island as their hideout.

Recommendation: Yes - it's the third in a series. But you can also just pick up this one and still understand enough to get into the plot (in case a teacher doesn't have 1 & 2 on the shelf).
