Title: Made For Each Other: Fashion and the Academy Awards
Author: Bronwyn Cosgrave
Summary: This book traces the development between fashion and the Academy Award ceremony through the dresses of the Best Actress award winners and some other key nominees and presenters. It explores the stories behind the dresses, the actresses, and the ceremonies beginning in the 20s and going up through today.
Recommendation: I think this book makes a very good resource for anyone doing a fashion history project, and is a good read if you are interested in fashion or film. Otherwise, the book may not be that interesting to you. The story bounces from year to year without any overarching theme, and sometimes it is unclear as to why Cosgrave chose the specific year and actress. She doesn't actually cover every ceremony, but picks and chooses, so that can be a little frustrating at times.
