The Opposite of Invisible

Title: The Opposite of Invisible

Author: Liz Gallagher

Summary: Alice goes through a period of finding herself. She gets her first boyfriend, but he comes at the expense of her best friend, and she has to decide what really matters most to her.

Recommendation: It would depend on the reader. The book treats issues like underage drinking and sex rather lightly; if the reader is prepared to make her/his own decisions and not be influenced by the book, I would recommend it. However, for a less mature reader, I would be worried that these practices are
glamorized and the consequences are not realistically portrayed.

Title: The Opposite of Invisible

Author: Liz Gallagher

Summary: Alice is getting antsy and wants to have a boyfriend. Her ideal is Simon Murphy, cute football player, but she doesn't think he sees her – until he asks her to the Halloween dance, the Bloodbath. Her best friend, Jewel is jealous of the union and takes his own date, Vanessa. The only problem is Jewel and Alice have feelings for each other, more than just best friend feelings.

Recommendation: Yes. It was a fun read and anyone who's had struggles with love will relate. It was interesting and short and ended on a good, but unpredictable, note.
