Summary: This is about the life of a small town called Ruby. The people here seek to form their own community and are wary of strangers. They don't like people coming or going; however, there is a Convent nearby and the people of Ruby blame their problems on the women who live in this Convent. They say that these women practice witchcraft, yet they are really seeking peace from their own hard lives.

Recommendation: This is an interesting book, but it also has a lot of hard scenes in it. I read it for a class in school; however, it's not one that I'd recommend to a wide audience. It has a lot of violence and innuendos throughout its pages.
