A young girl becomes pregnant, and two elderly bachelors open their house and hearts to her and her child. Meanwhile, two young boys grow up with a father who tries to make ends meet when their mother abandons them. Along with many other wonderful characters.

Recommendation: I loved this book and am so glad I finished it.It is character driven, real, and humane. Their lives are invested with detail and the feeling of "real truth." I can't recommend it whole heartedly because the first section of the book has some difficult imagery and language.
