Author: Clive Cussler
Summary: This was one of Cussler's earlier books and was published before Titanic’s final resting place was known. The story involves the raising of the Titanic in the middle of a hurricane as a matter of national security in a race against the Russians. Dirk Pitt again plays the protagonist in the book.
Recommendation: I liked this book in that it was interesting to hear a story about the Titanic before we knew how and where she really sank. It wasn't my favorite Dirk Pitt novel because the hero doesn't "fly by the seat of his pants" to escape impossible situations. It seems like everything was preplanned and didn't leave much excitement to the reader. Also a disappointment, Pitt also has a "fling" with a married woman.
