Summary: Alvin Miller is now 11 years old and on his way to learn how to be a blacksmith. He and his brother are captured by Indians and soon learn they are in the middle of a huge plot to create a war between the Americans and the Indians. Alvin learns how to use his power to heal wounds, but he can't stop the wounds the land feels caused by the struggle.

Recommendation: Yes, if you read the first book, read this one. The series takes off and Card starts to explore the amazing world he has created.
