Summary: The time is 1872, and the place is New York City, and Horace
Carpentine, a 13 year old photography apprentice is about to learn how to take pictures for the first time. The only problem is discovered during development - ghosts appear in each portraiture he takes.... why and how?

Recommendation: Yes - he's a good author and the writing style seems to be from the 19th century, which most authors can't pull off. It's a good thriller without the fright.
