Author: Theodore Sturgeon
Summary: Told mostly through a series of letters and official reports, two psychiatrists try to piece together the mind a very disturbed air-force recruit. The reader is left initially left to guess at the red flag that drew the psychiatrist's attention, creating a rather unique mystery story.
Recommendation: Not one of Sturgeon's best works, but it's still very
interesting. Not really captivating or compelling, either; just interesting. It's worth reading if you like Sturgeon, but if you're looking for a good horror, there are better ones out there.
