Summary: This is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast retold on the American frontier. There were elements of Native American magic/belief running through the whole book.

Recommendation: Overall I prefer the other books in the "Once Upon a Time" series. I also prefer Robin McKinley's Beauty. However it was an enjoyable book.
