The Strawberry Girl

Heavy drought and some mean, aggressive neighbors almost destroy her industrious family's hopes and dreams. Hard work and a positive attitude pulls everyone through.

Recommendation: I would recommend this book. It gives an image of what
historic America was like for those who lived there. It shows the advantages of industry and a positive outlook, and on taking care of what is yours. I would compare it to the Little House on the Prairie series, which I loved when I was young.
