Author: Harper Lee
Summary: This book covers the adventures of Scout and Jem Finch who, along with their friend, Dill, attempt to get a glance at Boo Radley (one of their neighbors who never comes outside). Then, their father, Atticus, defends a black man by the name of Tom Robinson in a court case. This book covers several years of their life and shows what "quiet" life in a small, southern town in the 1930s may have been like.
Recommendation: Absolutely. Besides some witty and comical dialog, this book is full of ethical debates the author has presented as serious food for thought. Even though it is no longer the 1930s, our society has much to learn about equality and human nature.
