Author: Dee Henderson
Summary: Lisa O'Malley is a forensic scientist faced with some puzzling clues about a body found in a burned building. As she digs deeper to find answers, her questions begin to cross paths with questions asked by Quinn Diamond, a US Marshal searching for a girl who disappeared 20 years previously. They become friends, and their investigation begins to link to other missing women. A pattern emerges, suggesting that the killer is still at large, and is coming after Lisa in the hopes of covering up the crimes.
Recommendation: Yes. Although this is apparently in the "Romance" category, most of the book concentrates on the mystery and the friendship that grows between Lisa and Quinn. The forensic science is believable, the characters are well drawn, and the mystery is developed nicely. This is a very clean read, with very little swearing or obscene behavior of any kind. There is also a religious aspect, which the author manages to introduce and use as a story sideline without getting too preachy.
