Unwind

Title: Unwind

Author: Neal Shusterman

Summary: In this futuristic book, people between the ages of 13 and 18 can be legally unwound--they get taken apart and their body parts get donated to hospitals. Three unwinds (teens marked to be unwound) try to escape the police and those who would turn them into the police while they try to fight the laws that make unwinding legal.

Recommendation: I would defiantly recommend this book to anybody and everybody. In fact, I do recommend this book to anyone and everyone literate. It is written amazingly, it will make you think about the meaning of life, and it is funny. There isn't any person who shouldn't read this book.

Title: Unwind

Author: Neil Shusterman

Summary: Connor's parents have scheduled him for unwind -- a living complete organ donation -- in a society where children cannot be aborted until they turn 13 and only then if their bodies will continue living in a divided state. Connor finds out ahead of time and goes on the run, managing to take Risa and Lev, two others scheduled for unwinding, with him. As they try to survive until they're 18, you see a society that has lost connection with one another.

Recommendation: Yes, I really enjoyed Shusterman's writing and his point, at least I think, that to take an argument to the extremes is good for no one and nothing in society. At times he seems pro-life and other times pro-abortion but what really comes out is the anti-extremism and the fact that we all need to treat each other and our choices with the forethought and dignity they deserve.
