Summary: This second book in the Dragonlance Legends trilogy continues the story of Raistlin, as he pursues his aim of challenging the Dark Queen. Moved forward in time at the end of the previous novel, Raistlin enlists the aid of his brother, Caramon, and the cleric Crysania in locating the Portal to the Abyss. Meanwhile, Tasslehoff works to escape that dread realm, to return to help his friends.

Recommendation: The book was quite enjoyable, continuing to explore the relationship of the Majere brothers, as well as Crysania's strange fascination with Raistlin. It also provided an interesting view of life on Krynn following the Cataclysm.
