In reading it, you will think, "Oh, this is just like . . .” It happens over and over, and was done on purpose.

This book did a wonderful job of detailing how hard life was for the colonists and soldiers during the war and helped us to see that even the enemy wasn't all bad.

Recommendation: This is the eighth book I've read in the Hannah Swensen series. I have enjoyed all of them very much, and have also enjoyed trying out a few of the yummy recipes that are included in each book. The only thing about this particular one that bothered me a bit was that it took awhile for the murder to happen. It was more than halfway into the book. Otherwise, I enjoyed the usual characters and style of writing by Joanne Fluke.

Meanwhile, Tasslehoff works to escape that dread realm, to return to help his friends.

Recommendation: The book was quite enjoyable, continuing to explore the relationship of the Majere brothers, as well as Crysania's strange fascination with Raistlin. It also provided an interesting view of life on Krynn following the Cataclysm.

Recommendation: I liked being able continue the story begun in the Dragonlance Chronicles, to see what was to become of the brothers Majere. The new character of Crysania added a new wrinkle to the story as well, becoming the same sort of tragically flawed character as Tanis in the Chronicles, but without the self-awareness to know that she is flawed.

Recommendation: This book was very suspenseful I couldn't put it down. I kept wanting to know what was going to happen next. It would be calm one minute and then suspenseful the next The idea of being pulled into dreams against your will was a different and enjoyable.

lords and the good old county sheriff who just wants the boy to come home safe. It's a story reflecting on the meaning of good and evil.

Recommendation: I would definitely recommend this book. It was hard to get into, and the story was very violent and disturbing, but the message and the philosophies explored were very intriguing. Even though it didn't have a happy ending, this book made me think about life and people and what living a good life means.

Recommendation: I would recommend this book for everyone who loved Choose Your Own Adventure books. Some of the alternate endings are a bit wild but it is fun to have the choices. Of course if you know Pride and Prejudice, you will have no problem fulfilling your mission.

This gives us an interesting look into the anthropology of our own recent culture through stories. I would also recommend this to anyone who wants a brief and artistic glimpse into recent history.

Mrs. Braun does a wonderful job with her secondary characters, and I enjoy the scope and changes that take place in the lead character's life throughout this series. That is why I searched out the first book, so I could see where Jim Qwilleran started out.

Recommendation: Absolutely. I have learned so much about American history from reading this book. I now better understand Lincoln and his magnanimous character as well as the circumstances that lead to the Civil War.

Recommendation: Yes - fast, funny, and it makes your brain work at the same time. Why can't all kids books have something to think about imbedded in them?

Other than that, this plot is really simple but sweet - and I wish they'd put more of the book's elements into the movie instead of trying to make the movie family so dysfunctional.

Recommendation: Yes, I would recommend the book. It is entertaining, but it is not one of Baldacci's best. The multiple characters become confusing at times, and the killing never seems to end. There are too many twists and turns. Despite those flaws, Baldacci is still one of my favorite authors, and even when he is not at his best, his books are worth the read.

Summary: This is a beautifully written story. Maya writes about her own life; however, she herself says that it's not all true. She writes, in this book, about her time in Africa. She came to the realization that she, and the other African Americans, did not belong in Africa--that America was and is their home. She does a wonderful job with the story and really shows many of the struggles of an African American and all others seeking for a place to belong.

Recommendation: I would recommend this book to many ages. It shows the
struggles of finding a place to call home. It is a wonderfully told story of a Mom learning to let her son grow up and learning to find herself in the midst of a culture that she wants so badly to fit into.
